Vinita Nair
In July 2004 Nair joined ABC News and was able to cover a range of stories, such as investigating the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings in Bailey, Colorado. Nair became a part of ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now in December 2007. The anchor was responsible for anchoring live news coverage, along with briefings on ABC's digital networks. Nair served as co-anchor on World News Now, America This Morning as well as ABC's digital channel starting on September 17th, 2008 until February 18th, 2011. Nair was co-anchor with Jeremy Hubbard and later Rob Nelson for both of the shows. Nair made it clear to viewers on World News Now that she was not going to be on World News Now after Friday 18th February. This would also be her last day working for ABC News. Peggy Bunker, a former anchor at KDVR Denver, was her directly succeeding her. World News Now, February 18 was the first of three segments that paid tribute to Nair. Current and former colleagues also appeared in the segments. She lavished the team with hot food during her last day.
